Meet A/Prof Lukas
Ernstbrunner
A/Professor Lukas Ernstbrunner is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with international training across Europe, the United States and Australia. He completed his MD and PhD through a collaborative program involving the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, before undertaking advanced orthopaedic training in Switzerland. He has completed multiple fellowships within and outside of Australia in order to specialise in arthroscopic procedures and joint replacements of the shoulder, hip and knee joint.
Alongside his clinical practice, Lukas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Melbourne and is actively involved in orthopaedic research and innovation.
His approach is centred on delivering evidence-based, patient-focused care using advanced surgical techniques tailored to each individual patient.
