Information for GPs

We believe that the General Practitioner (GP) is pivotal in the continuum of patient care and we aim to assist GPs to maintain and improve the quality of care they give to their patients by providing up-to-date information about the latest developments in healthcare and disease management.

We offer educational programs and events that promote a strong line of communication between referring GPs, St Vincent’s Private Hospitals, our surgeons and physicians

GP Education

St Vincent's Private Hospitals run an interactive professional development program for GPs in conjunction with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and our Visiting Medical Officer community. 

We are proud to be approved as Endorsed Providers of GP education with the RACGP in their internationally recognised Quality Improvement and Continuing Professional Development (QI&CPD) Program.

The program:

• Is structured to meet specific GP needs
• Is based on principles of interactive adult education
• Serves to reinforce GP knowledge and skills
• Is subject to a continual quality review process to ensure quality improvement and high standards of GP education

Many of our hospitals also have collaborations with universities and are involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training.
