Talk to your GP about getting a referral with a participating orthopaedic surgeon. From there, we can book your surgery and access the program.
Everything is included aside from the initial consultation with your surgeon. The No Gap Joint Program will cover:
  • Complete clinical care provided by our surgeon, anaesthetist and multi disciplinary team while in hospital
  • Diagnostic services (pathology and radiology) during your hospital stay

Yes. We encourage our patients to talk to their GP about choosing a surgeon. To learn more about our surgeons participating in the St Vincent’s No Gap Joint program, please call us on 1300 207 340

All the standard elements of joint replacement surgery are included; you will only need to pay for the initial consultation with your surgeon and the excess on your Medibank policy. If you require any additional and unrelated care during your stay, clinicians involved may charge an out-of-pocket expense*. This will be discussed with you in advance of treatment.
Eligible patients can receive rehabilitation** at home at no additional cost. This service, along with a care coordination service, will be provided by Amplar Health.
Your experience as a private patient will be exactly the same. The only important difference is that there will be no out-of-pocket costs* for you to worry about except the usual excess or co-payment depending on your Medibank product.
As long as you have held an appropriate level of Medibank cover for a minimum of 12 months, you may be eligible for the Medibank No Gap Program. If you’re unsure, you can find this information by calling 1300 207 340.
If there are complications during your hospital admission that require unrelated care fees may apply. All patients will be provided with Informed patient consent.
