St Vincent's Private Victoria Pathway to Specialty Practice Programs for nurses
Pathway to Specialty Practice Programs (Previously known as Introduction to Specialty Practice)
St Vincent's Private Hospitals Victoria offers premier Pathway Specialty Practice Programs designed to advance your nursing career. Our 12 month programs provide comprehensive professional development with a focus on building essential knowledge and practical clinical skills. You'll receive ongoing mentorship from our expert educators and senior clinical staff, ensuring you have continuous support as you work toward clearly defined goals. Our objective is to develop your clinical expertise so you can deliver exceptional patient care.
Your career growth at St Vincent's
We welcome both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs)—whether you've recently completed a 12 month graduate program or are an experienced nurse exploring a new specialty. This is an unparalleled opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career within one of Victoria's most trusted healthcare environments.
Our programs are available across our four acute care private hospitals: East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Kew and Werribee.
Unmatched experience: Our Public-Private collaboration
What truly sets St Vincent's program apart is our innovative collaboration with St Vincent's Public Hospital, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the state. As a leading not-for-profit provider, our "one St Vincent’s" approach allows us to offer you a unique, integrated learning experience.
This groundbreaking partnership, launching in 2026, enables you to gain unmatched experience by working across both public and private hospital environments. This tailored learning pathway provides you with a broader range of clinical exposure and is a key advantage of being a St Vincent's Health Australia employee.
