Biography
A/Prof Jim Jackson a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes.
In 2004 he graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2004. A/Prof Jackson has also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (UCLA) and a PhD (Monash) investigating methods to reduce side effects of cancer treatment.A/Prof Jackson completed his radiation oncology training in Queensland and in 2012, he undertook a clinical research fellowship at the Austin-Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in image guided and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). He is affiliated with Bond University, as Honorary Adjunct Associate Professor.
A/Prof Jackson is an Investigator on several multi-centre, clinical trials. He is a member of the Icon Cancer Centre Research Committee and has held several roles with the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). He is a member of both the American and European Radiation Oncology Societies and regularly reviews scientific papers for national and international medical journals.
His clinical experience covers a broad range of malignancies with special interests in genitourinary and prostate cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.
