Biography

A/Prof Jonathan Stretch is a plastic surgeon (reconstructive and aesthetic) who currently manages a wide spectrum of patients requiring a range of plastic surgery skills, including patients presenting skin cancer problems.

A/Prof Stretch's practice has evolved to reflect the training and accumulated clinical experience developed during nearly 30 years as a specialist surgeon. After comprehensive plastic surgery training that included understanding and managing the full spectrum of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery patients, he also developed substantial experience in all forms of skin cancer including melanoma.

His skin cancer patients invariably require plastic surgery to obtain the best functional and aesthetic results, in addition to optimal oncology outcomes. A/Prof Stretch undertook his surgical training in Sydney becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Plastic Surgery) in 1987. He was Overseas Fellow at the Radcliffe Infirmary and Research Fellow in the Nuffield Department of Surgery, Oxford. He is Associate Professor of Melanoma and Skin Oncology at The University of Sydney. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2012.
