Biography
Dr Anoj Dharmawardhane is a general surgeon with particular focus on upper gastrointestinal surgery including anti-reflux, colorectal and laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures.
Anoj received his initial surgical training in his native Sri Lanka and was board certified as a gastrointestinal surgeon in 2008. He undertook his post graduate training in general surgery as the Upper Gastrointestinal Fellow at Monash Medical Centre and completed further rural fellowships at the Royal Darwin Hospital and Alice Springs Hospital.He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. Anoj has been practising general surgery in Toowoomba since 2016, during which time he has also completed a further post graduate diploma in minimally invasive surgery from the University of Adelaide and been appointed Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
He is a Gastroenterological Society of Australia certified endoscopist with procedural skills in both gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
