Biography
Dr Wettstein has extensive experience in interventional endoscopy and surveillance colonoscopy. He is proficient in more complicated endoscopy techniques, performs ablative therapy for haemorrhoids and has a special interest in Radiofrequency Ablation for the treatment of advanced Barrett’s oesophagus.
Dr Wettstein has extensive experience in interventional endoscopy and surveillance colonoscopy. He is proficient in more complicated endoscopy techniques, performs ablative therapy for haemorrhoids and has a special interest in Radiofrequency Ablation for the treatment of advanced Barrett’s oesophagus.Dr Wettstein has special research interests in endoscopic management of Barrett’s oesophagus, the treatment of digestive tract parasites and in the management of reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome. He graduated his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with honours at the University of New South Wales.
He completed his accredited training in Gastroenterology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and also worked as a Staff Specialist and Research Fellow at the Liestal University Hospital in Switzerland.
Dr Wettstein worked as a VMO at St Vincent’s Public Hospital before joining the St Vincent’s Clinic Diagnostic Endoscopy Centre as a partner. He currently works at the Diagnostic Endoscopy Centre and CDD. Dr Wettstein has published numerous peer review research papers, presented many abstracts and posters and gives frequent lectures to other doctors in Australia and overseas.
