Biography

Dr Catherine McDougall is an orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in hip and knee surgery, joint replacement of the hip and knees, and orthopaedics in the elderly.

After training and working as a physiotherapist for some years, Catherine decided to pursue her interest in orthopaedic medicine by returning to university to study medicine.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 2006, she concluded her orthopaedics surgical training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. She went on to complete a fellowship in knee surgery on the Gold Coast, before travelling to Edinburgh to undertake a further Fellowship in knee and hip and revision arthroplasty.

As well as consulting at hospitals across Brisbane, Catherine also holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is a Special Reservist with the Australian Defence Force.
