Biography

Dr Con Aroney is a highly experienced cardiologist committed to improving the cardiovascular health of all his patients using surgical and non-surgical interventions.

Dr Con Aroney is a highly qualified interventional cardiologist. He believes that treatment should not only improve current cardiac health but also provide appropriate tools for creating diet and lifestyle habits that promote optimal cardiovascular function.

Con graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1979. After completing his specialist training, he pursued a clinical and research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1990, Con was appointed the Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Prince Charles Hospital, a position he held for 15 years.

A keen researcher, Con holds a Doctor of Medicine for his research into heart failure and has authored over 150 publications. He has served on committees for the Heart Foundation and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and, for his services to these organisations and the field of cardiology, was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2007.
