Biography

Dr John Kennedy sees patients with all types of eye problems. He also works extensively with other ophthalmic sub-specialists to allow you treatment that meets the needs of your unique eye concerns.

Dr John Kennedy’s chief clinical interest is in cataract surgery, either as a primary or refractive procedure, and especially in people with other eye problems, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. He prides himself on offering patient-centred care, believing that a patient is more than the condition they’re suffering from.

John is immediate past chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, and has previously held a number of senior positions at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the UK, and also a member of the American, European and Australasian societies of cataract and refractive surgery.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
