Biography
Dr Khageshwor Pokharel is a medical oncologist who believes that, because everyone’s clinical and personal needs are different, communication and collaborative care are vital to finding the right cancer treatments.
Dr Pokharel completed his Medical Oncology training from Queensland Medical Oncology Training Program. He did his clinical placements at various tertiary public hospitals in Brisbane and obtained his Fellowship in Medical Oncology from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
He is an independent Medical Oncologist who is a senior staff specialist at the cancer care centre at the Toowoomba Base Hospital and is involved in various medical oncology clinical trials running at the hospital. He also consults at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba.
He is actively involved in teaching medical students and is a senior lecturer with the University of Queensland’s School of Medicine. He is also involved in teaching and training of junior doctors and advanced trainees in medical oncology.
Dr Pokharel treats all solid organ malignancies but has a particular interest in head and neck, lung, colorectal, prostate and breast cancers.
