Biography

Dr Peter Hansen is an experienced cardiologist with great expertise in complex heart conditions. He has a particular interest in using the latest surgical techniques to treat blocked arteries

Dr Peter Hansen is a highly qualified consultant and interventional cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary intervention and structural heart disease. He is experienced in established percutaneous valve therapies such as TAVI and MitraClip, and has been instrumental in setting up the infarct angioplasty service and comprehensive structural heart disease program on the North Shore Hospital Campus.

Peter also specialises in all aspects of vascular surgery including varicose vein treatment. In addition to an active clinical role, he has maintained an ongoing research interest and has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Peter is a visiting specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.
