Biography

Dr Rebecca Mackenzie-Proctor is a highly respected Fertility Specialist and Gynaecologist consulting at Life Fertility in Fitzroy, Melbourne. With over a decade of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, she is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and a certified subspecialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (CREI).

Rebecca places women’s overall wellbeing at the forefront of her care, combining clinical excellence with a holistic, patient-centred approach. Originally from New Zealand, she completed her specialist training through FRANZCOG and has held consultant roles at Middlemore Hospital and various private fertility centres. She has also undertaken advanced study to subspecialise in fertility and reproductive endocrinology.
Over the past decade, she has developed deep expertise in managing complex fertility and gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian insufficiency, and male infertility.

A skilled laparoscopic and microsurgical surgeon, Rebecca has a particular focus on male infertility and endometriosis surgery. She also holds a special interest in the reproductive health impacts of elite-level sport, having provided care to Olympic and national athletes.
Her commitment to integrative medicine is reflected in her additional qualifications in sports medicine, nutrition, and psychology, as well as her training in Ayurveda and yoga in India.

Rebecca has published widely and collaborated on research projects across Australasia and the UK. She is also a dedicated mentor to junior doctors and a passionate advocate for the rainbow community and for fertility preservation in adolescents and young adults.

Outside of medicine, Rebecca enjoys creative pursuits, staying active through yoga and running, and spending time in nature with her partner and two young children.
