Biography
Dr Sam Fogarty is a clinical cardiologist with speciality interests in cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echo and CT Coronary Angiography.
Sam is excited to have settled back in Toowoomba after growing up here. He previously worked as a pharmacist in Toowoomba before completing medical school at the University of Queensland. He undertook his resident and basic physician training at Toowoomba Hospital before relocating to Brisbane for advanced training in Cardiology, spending time at Princess Alexandra and the Royal Brisbane and Women's hospitals.
Following the completion of his Cardiology training, Sam undertook a two-year multimodal cardiac imaging fellowship at Royal Melbourne Hospital encompassing echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI, with a strong focus on congenital cardiac diseases. He subsequently completed a further 12-month echocardiography fellowship locally.
Sam maintains a part-time appointment as a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at Toowoomba Hospital, as well as Senior Lecturer status with the University of Queensland.
Sam provides inpatient care at St Vincent’s Hospital. He provides outpatient consultations at Heart Specialists Toowoomba, a practice that he established with Dr Loretta Carr in late 2023.
