Biography

Dr Stephen Allwright is a consultant nuclear medicine specialist with a particular interest in using this form of medicine to help bones and joints, heart conditions and children.

Dr Stephen Allwright qualified in nuclear medicine at Royal North Shore and Westmead Hospital and subsequently completed a fellowship in paediatric nuclear medicine at the Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. He returned to Westmead Hospital for a specialist position in nuclear medicine and ultrasound before finally opening Dee Why Nuclear Medicine in 1991 as a joint venture.

Stephen is widely respected in his specialty and has authored many publications including a highly regarded book that examines the role of nuclear imaging in sports medicine. Education is a key focus for Stephen. He currently teaches 3rd year medical students and has lectured nuclear medicine registrars and technologists for many years. He is also involved in education for GPs and physiotherapists. Stephen is a Visiting Medical Officer at both the Northern Beaches Hospital and at the Mater Hospital.
