Dr Usman Mahmood is a Toowoomba-based nephrologist who’s passionate about bringing high-quality kidney care to the local community.
Dr Usman Mahmood is a nephrologist who’s passionate about bringing high-quality kidney treatments to the Toowoomba community. He has clinical experience in metropolitan, regional and indigenous health care settings, which helps him understand the challenges that may arise for his patients in their ongoing renal care.After completing his tertiary education in 2006, Usman undertook his specialist nephrology training in a number of hospitals around Australia, including the Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and in the renal transplant unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Enthusiastic about educating future generations of nephrologists, Usman regularly teaches medical students, and holds the position of Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has also authored two books on the topics of peritoneal dialysis solutions, and cardiac biomarkers in dialysis patients.
