Biography

Mr Girish Nair is a neurosurgeon highly skilled in treating of movement disorders, and brain and spine conditions. He has a clinical interest in minimally-invasive treatments for lower back pain and degenerative spine diseases, disc replacement surgeries, movement disorders, and minimal access spinal fusion using robot-assisted techniques.

After becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Girish undertook sub-specialty fellowship training in spinal surgery and movement disorders. He is a well-recognised expert in the field of movement disorder surgery, and performed the first frameless deep brain stimulation surgery in Victoria. His interest in this field led him to be the first neurosurgeon in the world to implant stem cells as part of an international research project on Parkinson’s disease.
