Biography
Mr John Salmon is an orthopaedic surgeon consulting at St Vincent’s Private Hospitals. He has a particular interest in surgery of the shoulder and will provide a balanced approach to your problem and advise if surgery or non-operative treatment is most likely to deliver the best possible outcome.
Mr John Salmon is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years’ experience in the management of conditions of the shoulder, particularly sporting injuries, rotator cuff injuries and arthritis. He has performed surgery for footballers from AFL clubs, as well as VFL, suburban and country football clubs. He has been involved in the development of shoulder surgery as a subspecialty, especially in Victoria.John commenced private practice in East Melbourne in 1997 and in the past has held consultant positions at The Austin, Monash Medical Centre and Northern Hospital. He is currently the chairman of the Orthopaedic Craft Group at St Vincent’s Private and is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee.
