Biography
Professor Gabrielle Caspar is a highly qualified gynaecologist with over 25 years’ experience. Well-known for her empathetic and reassuring gynaelogical care, she has particular interest in any type of female bleeding that sits outside the normal spectrum and is committed to upholding women’s rights.
Professor Gabrielle Casper is a widely experienced gynaecologist that is internationally respected for her advocacy work around women’s health and the protection of human rights. She has particular interest in the nuances of menstrual health including abnormal smears, heavy bleeding, inter-menstrual bleeding and post-menopausal bleeding. She works with compassion and consideration ensuring that her patients are seen within 2 weeks of referral.Highly qualified, Gabrielle completed her Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) in 1998. A previous head of the department of gynaecology at the Mater, she is currently head of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at Notre Dame University.
A past chairman of the NSW State Committee of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), Gabrielle has also undertaken advocacy work with the Australian Federal Government, World Health Organisation and the United Nations. She received the 2004 Australian Medical Association (AMA) Women’s Health Award as well as the AMA Women in Medicine Award. Committed to teaching and education, Dr Casper has been a principal investigator in a cervical dysplasia clinical research trial and performed up to 120 colposcopies per week.
