Biography

Professor Michael Feneley is an experienced cardiologist who is a Director of the Heart Lung Program and Cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital, and oversees the Departments of Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Professor Feneley received his medical degree from the University of NSW, and completed his specialist training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology.

He’s served as President of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and Chairman of the Commonwealth’s Cardiac Imaging Management Committee.

Michael is actively involved in teaching and research. He’s a Conjoint Professor at UNSW, and Director of the Cardiac Physiology and Transplantation Division at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, where he oversees its Cardiovascular Mechanics program.

In 2012, he was named a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the field of cardiology as a clinician, researcher and educator.
