Rated No.1 Private Hospital by Medibank patients

St Vincent’s Private Hospitals Ranked #1 By Medibank Customers for Third Year Running

We are thrilled to announce that our 10 private hospitals across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland have been rated first in Australia by Medibank customers for the third year running.

St Vincent’s CEO Chris Blake said the results were a credit to our staff and their commitment to our patients, their families and the our local communities they serve.

“This is a fantastic achievement and a credit to each and every one of our private hospital team members who work so hard to create an exceptional experience for our patients, families and communities,” said Mr Blake.

As part of the health insurer’s annual Patient Reported Experience Measures Survey (PREMS), St Vincent’s Private Hospitals were ranked first by Medibank’s customers across the four domains surveyed: communication and engagement, care in hospital, going home, and hospital environment.

“To have been ranked number one by Medibank customers for three years running is just extraordinary. It speaks volumes of the efforts our teams make to continuously improve and stay ahead of the curve”, said Mr Blake.

St Vincent’s Private Hospitals were measured against 15 other Australian private hospital groups and ranked first in seven out of 12 sub-categories including nurse communication, doctor communication, communication about medicines, cleanliness, quietness, overall rating, and NPS score (which measures patient experience).

Mr Blake says this result is particularly impressive given it has been achieved in what has been, and remains to be, a very challenging healthcare environment.

“All hospitals in Australia are still feeling the after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic; all hospitals are struggling to retain and attract a skilled workforce. It’s a wonderful endorsement of our approach and tells us we’re on the right track”, he said.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
