St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba has experienced its highest number of surgical procedures in the hospital’s 104-year history, chalking up 18,157 surgeries in the 2025-26 financial year.  

The number reflects a 7.4 per cent growth on the previous year’s surgery numbers (16,900) and a 25.3 per cent growth on 2023-24 (14,492).  

The increased activity reflects surgeries across a variety of specialty areas including orthopaedics (eg joint replacements, including hip and knee replacements), colorectal, ENT, gynaecology and obstetrics, bariatric, breast and reconstructive surgery, urology, cardiology, maxillofacial, and endoscopy.  

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba’s General Manager, Malcolm Casey, said the record result reflected the hospital’s ongoing investment in surgical services, technology, and clinical capability. 

“These numbers show that more and more Toowoomba and Darling Downs locals are choosing St Vincent’s and our specialists for their elective surgery needs and we’re able to accommodate them in growing numbers,” said Malcolm.
