- St Vincent's Private Hospital Hosts' Inside the Operating Room: Robotics, Navigation and Innovations
Hosted by Janine Loader, with Campaign Advisory Committee members Angela Ceberano, Adrian Logiudice, Carlo Santoro and Isabel Zhang, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne welcomed 60 valued donors and supporters to a special luncheon on Friday 16 May at Butler Lane, Richmond, titled Inside the Operating Room: Robotics, Navigation and Innovations in Surgery. The event celebrated the future of surgery, driven by robotics, innovation and patient-centred care. It featured presentations from three of the hospital’s leading specialists, along with powerful patient stories that highlighted the real-world impact of cutting-edge surgical technology.
Guests heard from Dr Anthony Ta, Urologist, Mr Yi Yuen (Ian) Wang, Neurosurgeon, and Associate Professor Gavin Wright, Thoracic Surgeon, who each spoke about how advanced technologies are transforming surgical practice. Central to this progress are tools such as the da Vinci 5 robotic system, the Loop-X imaging robot, and state-of-the-art intraoperative imaging, which are helping to make surgery safer, more precise and more effective than ever before.
Two of Dr Wright's patients, Natalie and Andja, shared their experiences. They spoke openly about their robotic-assisted surgeries and the benefits they received, including faster recovery times, reduced post-operative pain and improved overall outcomes. Their stories brought to life how these technologies enhance care and change lives.
