Biography
Associate Professor Brett Courtenay OAM is an orthopaedic surgeon with over 30 years’ experience helping people with hip and knee concerns improve their joint function.
Brett has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of primary and revision hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery, compartment syndrome and medicolegal consultations.Brett is the current President of the St Vincent’s Clinic and holds an appointment as Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales. He’s been active in the Australian Army Medical Corps having been deployed to the Solomon Islands, Timor, Banda Aceh and Afghanistan. He holds the rank of Colonel and is the Senior Medical Officer and Chair of Clinical Governance for the 2nd Division of the Army.
In 2016 he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his contribution to orthopaedic medicine and medical education.
