Biography

A/Prof Neil Smith is a respiratory and sleep physician with particular interest in bronchoscopy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, chronic cough, obstructive sleep apnoea, and veteran’s and men’s health issues.

A/Prof Smith's interest in obstructive sleep apnoea lies in helping patients who have trouble tolerating continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. Neil graduated from the University of Melbourne, and completed advanced respiratory and sleep medicine training at The Austin Repatriation and The Western Hospitals.

Neil has been offering high quality care to the people of the western suburbs since 1998. Outside of his clinical practice, he’s actively involved in training future respiratory and sleep physicians, and holds an appointment as Clinical Association Professor at the University of Notre Dame.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
