Biography
A/Prof David Prior is a Melbourne-based cardiologist and the Deputy Director of Cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital. He has expertise in the management of pulmonary hypertension, echocardiography, heart failure and abnormal cardiovascular function.
A/Prof Prior is the director of non-invasive cardiac imaging at St Vincent’s Hospital.David undertook his advanced cardiology training, including heart failure and transplantation, at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He followed this with a PhD examining abnormal vascular function in heart failure at the Baker Heart Research Institute and Alfred Hospital.
David travelled overseas to further advance his skills in 1998 and completed a 2-year advanced fellowship in echocardiography at The Cleveland Clinic in the USA. Upon his return to Melbourne, David took up a position at St Vincent’s Hospital. His main clinical and research interests are in echocardiography, pulmonary hypertension, sports cardiology and heart failure management.
