Biography
Dr Akshay Mishra is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in primary angioplasty, complex coronary and peripheral interventions and carotid stenting and CT coronary angiography.
Dr Akshay Mishra is an interventional cardiologist whose expertise lies in primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, complex coronary and peripheral interventions and carotid stenting and CT coronary angiography to evaluate coronary and structural heart disease.After completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the Armed Forces College in India, Akshay served for 10 years in the Indian Army before moving to Australia. He completed his specialist cardiology training at the Gold Coast and Prince Charles Hospitals to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Seeking further training, he travelled to the USA in 2009 to undertake an interventional cardiology fellowship at Lennox Hill Hospital where he gained experience in coronary and peripheral procedures.
Since returning to Australia, Ashkay has consulted in hospitals across Brisbane, offering his services both publicly and privately. He also holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
