Biography

Dr Alexandra McRae provides individualised care to girls and women of all ages. She also offers comprehensive and personalised obstetric care for both low and high risk pregnancies from preconception advice to post partum contraception.

Dr McRae is evidence-based in her approach, which includes conservative management of benign gynaecological disease with a preference for minimally-invasive surgical techniques.

Alexandra completed her undergraduate medical degree with honours at UNSW. She completed additional training in sexual health and sexually-transmitted disease management, maternal critical care, management of medical disorders in pregnancy and surgical repair of post-partum anal sphincter injuries.

She completed fellowship training with a focus on paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, minimally-invasive surgery and reproductive endocrinology at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Alexandra is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Board of Examiners, a lecturer for the Diploma in Child Health/International Postgraduate Paediatric Certificate and is regularly invited to lecture doctors and trainees.
