Biography
Dr Anthony Allen is a highly experienced infectious disease specialist and microbiologist.
Dr Allen is a highly experienced infectious disease specialist and microbiologist with a particular interest in hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, surgical and orthopaedic infections, infections in immunocompromised patients, and outbreak response.Anthony has been treating the Brisbane community since 1986, during which time he has consulted at hospitals across the area, as well as having held the position of Director of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control, Sexual Health and HIV Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Outside of his clinical practice, Anthony has also been involved in state-wide and national planning for pandemic response, and was deployed to Banda Aceh in Indonesia following the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004.
