Biography
Dr Anthony Ta is a urologist who trained in Melbourne and London, specialising in minimally-invasive management of benign and malignant conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder and prostate. Anthony has a particular interest in robotic surgery, and worked at the prestigious University College Hospital in London for four years, before returning to Melbourne in 2023.
Anthony completed his medical school training in 2006 at The University of Melbourne, and completed residency training at Austin Health in 2009. He then completed a postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy in 2010, and was awarded the Albert Coates Memorial Prize for finishing as the top graduate.Anthony obtained a Doctor of Medical Science degree with The University of Melbourne in 2012 for postgraduate research in prostate and kidney cancer, and minimally invasive treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. In 2013, Anthony was awarded the Gordon Taylor Medal for the highest score in the Surgical Science and Clinical Examination. In 2015, Anthony was further awarded the Frank Gardiner Medal for the highest score in the Urology Surgical Science Examination.
Anthony completed his urological training in Melbourne and was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018.
