Biography
Dr Anudeep Gupta is an Interventional and General Cardiologist working from St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba and the Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Dr Gupta has special interests in the prevention, diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes. As an interventional cardiologist, he can perform invasive diagnostic procedures such as coronary angiography and right heart catheterizations. He can provide safe and high quality, complex interventional procedures, such as percutaneous angioplasty, rotational arthrectomy, coronary physiology assessments, and intra-coronary imaging with IVUS and OCT.As a general cardiologist, Dr Gupta is well versed in the management of a wide range of cardiac pathologies, with contemporary training and up to date management strategies. He can treat patients with heart failure/cardiomyopathies, arrhythmia and has a special interest in preventative and perioperative cardiology.
Dr Gupta is an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and James Cook University. He has research interests in interventional cardiology, preventative medicine and in heart failure, and is actively involved in research and clinical trials domestically and internationally. He is also involved in the training and mentorship of the next generation of doctors.
Dr Gupta’s down-to-earth, caring and excellent bedside professional manner has been crafted through years of his training. Dr Gupta completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle NSW. He has completed his junior medical years in multiple different departments through Southeast Queensland, prior to undertaking his Advanced Training in Cardiology in Townsville and The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. After a first year of Interventional Cardiology Fellowship in Townsville, his skills were consolidated with a complex coronary intervention fellowship at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne.
Since completing his training, Dr Gupta has worked as a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at Townsville University Hospital and as a Visiting Medical Officer at The Mater Hospital Townsville.
