Biography

Dr Ashok is a Specialist General Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.

With clinical training spanning the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, he brings a wealth of interbational experience to his patients at St Vincent's Private Hospital Werribee.

Earning his medical degree from the University of Birmingham (UK) IN 2009, Dr Ashok also holds a First Class Honours Degree in Anatomy from the University of Leeds. Demonstrating a lifelong commitment to advancing evidence-based medicine, he undertook a period of full-time clinical research culminating in the award of a PhD.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ashok focuses on providing comprehensive, individualised care in bariatric and metabolic surgery. He is highly experienced in both primary and revisional weight-loss procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB), and One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB).

Beyond the operating theatre, Dr Ashok is an active instructor and examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). To ensure his patients benefit from the latest global advancements, he maintains active memberships with the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Society (ANZMOSS) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
