Dr Austin Zimbwa is a gastroenterologist who has been offering compassionate patient-centred care to the Toowoomba community for many years.
Dr Austin Zimbwa is a gastroenterologist who has been treating the Toowoomba community for many years. He provides patient-centred multidisciplinary care, collaborating with patients to find treatment solutions that consider each individual’s cultural, lifestyle and medical needs.Austin graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 1994 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. Deciding to relocate to the UK in 2000 to undertake specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine, he worked in various hospitals in London, Wiltshire and across Wales. After becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2001, Austin practised for 3 years as a gastroenterologist and general physician before deciding to make the move to Australia.
Austin has now been offering gastroenterology and hepatology services both publicly and privately to the Darling Downs region since 2013.
