Biography
Basia is a fully qualified, Sydney-based, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with an interest in Minimally Invasive & Laparoscopic Surgery. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Sydney, having previously completed a Bachelor of Law with Honours. Her general medical training was completed through Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Royal Darwin Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick.
Basia has experience in low and high-risk obstetrics, colposcopy, laparoscopic and pelvic floor surgery, as well as research and education. She believes in providing a compassionate & caring, with a focus on the empowerment & nurturing of women. She strives to offer holistic and evidenced based care that respects every patient’s unique story & health concerns. She focuses on understanding your individual pregnancy needs and personal story and delivering a safe and nurturing birthing experience.
She completed additional training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery with a Fellowship accredited by the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Surgery Society (AGES), which allows her to provides a complete range of gynaecological services with a special interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and advanced laparoscopy.
She is happy to explore conservative, medical, and surgical approaches and will involve additional allied healthcare and complementary professionals in your care if required.
She presents regularly at conferences & meetings and has published in academic journals on various OBGYN topics. She is passionate about supporting education of doctors, midwives and medical students, and is involved in teaching through RANZCOG, AGES, the University of Western Sydney and the University of Notre Dame.
