Biography
Dr Charles Chao is an imaging cardiologist with a particular interest in general cardiology, ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2002 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Chao undertook his advanced cardiology training at the Princess Alexandra and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010.He went on to complete two additional fellowships: a fellowship in non-invasive cardiac imaging at MonashHeart in Victoria, and then a fellowship in cardiac MRI at the Heart Hospital in London, UK. He subsequently gained accreditations for Level 3 Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Level 2 Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
Since his return to Australia, he has commenced private practise, consults at a number of hospitals across Brisbane, and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
