Dr Daniel Steiner is a urologist who is trained in all aspects of general urology. He takes pride in providing high-quality individualised care using up-to-date technology and treatment options to achieve the best outcomes.Dr Steiner has special interests in advanced laparoscopic procedures for the management of benign and malignant urological disorders, minimally-invasive kidney stone treatment (including percutaneous nephrolithotomy for very large stones) and the latest medical or surgical management of benign prostate enlargement.
Daniel graduated from Monash University and then undertook his internship and basic medical training at the Alfred Hospital. His advanced surgical training was completed at the Alfred before commencing 3 years of specialist urological training in NSW. He returned to Melbourne to undertake a 1-year fellowship in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery at the Western Hospital specialising in advanced laparoscopic urological operations including laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic pyeloplasty and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.
Daniel has a keen interest in surgical research and has been published in numerous publications as well as presenting papers at numerous national and international conferences. He regularly lectures at the University of Melbourne Medical School.
