Biography
Dr Davor Premrl graduated from Monash University in 2013. He subsequently completed physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and then went on to complete Advanced Training in Neurology at the Royal Melbourne and Austin Hospitals. He subsequently dual-trained in Neurointervention at the Austin and St Vincent’s Hospitals. Davor is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP), member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) and registered by The Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Interventional Neuroradiology in Australia (CCINR). He is a currently a staff specialist in Neurology and Radiology at Austin, St Vincent’s and Royal Hobart Hospitals.
Davor has a strong interest in research. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, with his thesis focused on the haemodynamics of intracranial atherosclerosis. He has presented in the fields of stroke and neurointervention both nationally and internationally, and has authored more than 30 publications and book chapters.
Davor has a subspecialty interest in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, intracranial aneurysms, carotid atherosclerosis and subdural haemorrhage. He is experienced in clot retrieval, endovascular treatment of aneurysms (coiling, stenting and intrasaccular devices), carotid stenting, arteriovenous fistula embolisation and middle meningeal artery embolisation. Davor prides himself on providing wholistic care, and ensuring that the latest scientific insights are translated into personalized care for his patients.
