Biography

Dr Debra Furniss is a radiation oncologist who has a particular interest in gastrointestinal, breast, lung, colorectal, blood and skin cancer.

Dr Debra Furniss is a radiation oncologist offering radiotherapy treatments for both malignant and benign diseases. She has a particular interest in gastrointestinal, breast, lung, colorectal, blood and skin cancer.

Debra graduated with a medical degree from the University of Sheffield in 1995. She concluded her initial training in general medicine and gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians in 1999.

Deciding to pursue her interest in cancer care, she undertook specialist training in clinical oncology at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield and, in 2001, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. During this time she also completed a Masters of Science in oncology with the University of Nottingham.

Choosing to stay on at Weston Park Hospital as a consultant clinical oncologist, she gained a decade of experience administering both adult and paediatric radiation therapy.

Debra moved to Australia in 2013 and has since been practising across Brisbane and its surrounds.
