Biography

Dr Emerald Setbo is a geriatrician with an interest in community geriatric medicine and dementia, and expertise in perioperative medicine, orthogeriatrics, stroke medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr Emerald Setbo is a Queensland-born geriatrician with an interest in community geriatric medicine and dementia, and additional expertise in perioperative medicine, orthogeriatrics, stroke medicine and rehabilitation.

Graduating from Griffith University Medical School with first class honours in 2010, Emerald completed her training in the geriatric medicine specialty at the Prince Charles and Princess Alexandra Hospitals. She also gained valuable rural experience by filling positions at regional Mackay Base and Nambour General Hospitals during this time. Subsequently she undertook a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.

Emerald’s passion for community geriatric medicine acknowleges the fact that being able to offer in-situ consultations alongside inpatient services provides a continuity of care that is essential to best quality care in the elderly.

Please note, from January 2023, Dr Setbo is only seeing selected patients.
