Biography
Dr Emily Olive is a Hepatobiliary and General Surgeon who is committed to providing excellent and compassionate patient care.
Dr Olive completed her medical degree with Class One Honours at The University of Queensland in 2010. On completion, she progressed onto general surgical training in Queensland, working at hospitals throughout the state and achieving FRACS in 2020.
Following this, Dr Olive spent a further four years in subspeciality training at hospitals throughout Australia and attained a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery with AANZHPBA. Through her training, Dr Olive has gained skills in advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgery as well complex hepatobiliary surgery. On completion of her Fellowship in 2025, Dr Olive commenced consultant appointments at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and is a member of RACS, GSA and AANZHBPA. She is a current board member of AANZHPBA.
Dr Olive’s special interests include: Benign and malignant liver pathology, benign and malignant pancreatic pathology, splenic pathology, adrenal pathology, gallbladder pathology, non-complex abdominal wall hernias, skin and soft tissue pathology, minimally invasive surgery, and emergency general surgery. She is a compassionate surgeon who prides herself on excellent, empathetic care. Patients are her number one priority and this attention to exceptional medical care was recognised in 2024 when she was awarded the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital registrar/fellow of the year. When Dr Olive is not at work, she is busy being a mum to her two young children.
