Biography

Dr Emily Wright is a gastroenterologist consulting at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. She is committed to providing wholistic medical care with compassion to help improve the quality of life for people with inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

Dr Wright has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Emily graduated from Monash University and completed her internal medicine and specialist gastroenterology training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. She was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council post-graduate scholarship for the completion of a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease. To further her expertise and skills, she underwent additional training in Calgary, Canada in IBD. She attained a PhD from the University of Melbourne, examining the clinical and microbiological features of Crohn’s disease.

Emily is heavily involved in research into IBD and IBS. Her research into the monitoring and management of Crohn’s disease and the gut microbiome has been widely published and presented at a number of national and international gastroenterology conferences.
