Biography

Dr Genni Newnham is an oncologist whose main clinical interests are in gastrointestinal and lung cancers. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred care that is informed by the latest oncological research.

Genni received a medical degree with honours from the University of Melbourne in 1997. She completed her advanced oncology training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2004, before deciding to undertake a Doctor of Medicine in translational lung cancer research.Genni is passionate about teaching and has a genuine interest in being able to pass on her expertise to the next generation of oncologists. She is the Supervisor of Prevocational Training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, has a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching, and regularly contributes to the Oncology Research Review.
