Biography

Dr Georgia McCaughan is a clinical and laboratory Haematologist at St Vincent’s Hospital.

She graduated from Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney in 2011 with the University Medal and has completed a Masters in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology). She completed her Haematology Advanced Training at Westmead Hospital and completed a Myeloma Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
Georgia McCaughan has an interest in plasma cell dyscrasias including multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis. She is the chair of the Myeloma Working Group of the Australian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) and a steering committee member of The Australasian Myeloma Research Consortium (AMaRC).  She is a member of the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG) and a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Group to Myeloma Australia.  She is a member of the St Vincent’s Hospital Amyloidosis Multidisciplinary Amyloidosis Clinic. 

Georgia is a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials in multiple myeloma and is actively involved in novel clinical trial design.  She is a Visiting Scientist at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research with an interest in myeloma bone disease and cancer cell dormancy.
