Biography

Dr Hannah Burns is an experienced ear, nose and throat surgeon with a particular interest in paediatric ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery.

After completing her undergraduate degree in Wellington, New Zealand, Hannah decided to move to Australia in 1998 to pursue a career in medicine. Upon graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, she carried out her advanced training in ENT surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008. She subsequently travelled to the UK to spend 18 months at Evelina Children’s Hospital, where she subspecialised in paediatric ENT with a focus on airway disorders.

Since returning to Brisbane, Hannah has established her private practice and consults at a number of hospitals across Brisbane. As well as being a keen researcher, she is passionate about educating medical students and junior doctors, and holds the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
