Biography
Dr Jananie is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Laparoscopic Surgeon in both public and private practice. Her practice philosophy is to provide warm and personalised care to women who are navigating challenges to their health.
Dr Jananie completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of New South Wales. She undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Jananie completed her training in some of Australia's busiest high risk obstetric units (Royal Prince Alfred, Royal Darwin, Westmead) and further refined her expertise by completing advanced training in open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic + hysteroscopic) gynaecology surgery. She currently works as a staff specialist at RPA and as a visiting medical officer at Gosford Hospital.Dr Jananie is dedicated to improving women’s health globally. She holds a Masters degree in International Public Health and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. She currently serves as a board director for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) Australia and on the RANZCOG Global Health Committee.
Her extensive remote and international experience across Africa, South America, and the Asia Pacific has shaped her belief that healthcare for women is not only a fundamental human right but strengthens the wellbeing and resilience of their families and their entire communities. Dr Jananie is committed to providing warm and compassionate care and she intentionally limits her obstetric numbers to be able to provide this deep personalised care.
