Biography
Dr Jed Lusthaus is an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon dedicated to optimising the eye health of all his patients.
After completing his medical degree in 2006 at the University of Adelaide, Jed undertook internship and residency at Concord Hospital, Sydney. He was trained as an ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital.During his training he was very fortunate to spend time working in Darwin and various outreach clinics in the Northern Territory treating indigenous Australians. This is something he plans to continue in the future.
From early in his training Jed developed an interest in glaucoma. He completed a glaucoma fellowship under the guidance of Prof Keith Martin at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK. There he gained valuable experience in glaucoma surgery and complicated cataract surgery.
Jed finds teaching and lecturing very rewarding. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Sydney’s Medical School. His other passions include sport, film, classical music, and spending time with his family and friends.
