Biography

Dr Juan Bortagaray is a Melbourne-based paediatric urologist providing compassionate care for parents of babies and children with disorders of the urinary and genital tracts.

Dr Bortagaray has a special interest in minimally-invasive surgery, hypospadias surgery and urologic reconstructive surgery.

Juan graduated from The University of Buenos Aires and underwent general surgery training and then paediatric surgery training in Argentina finishing in 2010. He undertook additional training with a fellowship in paediatric minimally-invasive surgery at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver, Colorado.

Juan then subspecialised in paediatric urology at Garrahan Children’s Hospital in Buenos Aires. He was then appointed as a consultant urologist at the same institution, where he had a leading role in developing their minimally-invasive urology service.
