Biography
Dr Kate Raine is a Geriatrician based in Toowoomba, providing comprehensive assessment and management of older adults with complex medical conditions and geriatric syndromes.
A graduate of Monash University in Melbourne, Dr Raine completed specialist training in Geriatric Medicine in Queensland, including at Toowoomba Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. She also has additional training in General and Acute Care Medicine, providing a broad physician perspective to the care of older adults.
Having trained and worked in regional Australia, Dr Raine is passionate about improving access to specialist geriatric care for older adults across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. She is also an Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland and is actively involved in the education and mentorship of future doctors.
Dr Raine is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based and person-centred care, working closely with patients, families and healthcare providers to develop individualised care plans that reflect each person's goals and priorities.
Dr Raine has particular interests in dementia and cognitive assessment, including memory concerns and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). She also provides assessment and management of delirium, frailty, falls and polypharmacy. Her practice encompasses comprehensive geriatric assessment, advance care planning, and supporting older adults and their families through complex healthcare decisions, including end-of-life care planning.
