Biography

Dr. Laura Wang is a highly-qualified Endocrine, Head and Neck surgeon, specialising in complex tumours of the thyroid and thyroid disease management. She obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales and completed her surgical training at multiple hospitals across Sydney.

After becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018, Dr Wang was selected for dual fellowships in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular reconstruction at the internationally renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. During these two intensive fellowships, she further honed her operative and clinical expertise in treating tumors of the head and neck.

Dr Wang is a leader in her field with over 30 peer reviewed publications in the area of Head and Neck Oncology, as well as holding a Doctorate of Philosophy on thyroid cancer prognosis and management. She has also worked with world leaders in active surveillance of thyroid disease and can safely monitor thyroid cancer for suitable patients. Dr Wang is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney and regularly speaks at national and international conferences.
